Giving thanks

happy_gold_dogAt this season of Thanksgiving, we all have much to be thankful for. We live in a free country, the weather has been beautiful and we enjoy the companionship of our faithful pets. Our fuzzy family members have many things to be thankful for as well. Here’s a little list of just some of the items that could be brought up around the pet table the fourth Thursday of November.

  1. I’m thankful for a warm bed.
  2. I’m thankful for my yummy food delivered every day.
  3. Belly rubs!
  4. I’m thankful for someone to play fetch with even though I don’t always bring the ball right back.
  5. Catnip.
  6. I’m thankful for my special spot in the sun.
  7. Laser pointers
  8. Butt rubs
  9. I’m thankful for my owner who loves and takes care of me.
  10. I’m even thankful for my vet- even though I’m a little scared to go, I know she wants to keep me healthy so I can spend a long time with my wonderful family.

And what are we as pet owners thankful for?

  1. Doggie kisses and kitty purrs
  2. All natural rodent control
  3. Portable hole-diggers
  4. A friend to keep my feet warm
  5. Hugs
  6. Kitten cartwheels
  7. An ever-ready ear that never judges
  8. Happy dances when I come home (whether I’m gone five minutes, five hours or five days)
  9. Wet noses
  10. The unconditional love our pets readily give

Cat_sunshineWe at Blairstown Animal Hospital wish you and all your family, both two-legged and four, a happy and healthy Thanksgiving season.
